BETA is a Minneapolis-based nonprofit that supports Minnesota's top tech startups by providing founders with the resources, capital, and connections needed to grow their businesses. Since its founding in 2013, BETA has built a strong community dedicated to helping founders succeed. Through its flagship programs—BETA Cohort accelerator, Twin Cities Startup Week, and regional media outlet tech.mn—BETA puts founders first, empowering them with the tools they need to thrive.
BETA began with a simple mission: to celebrate local tech founders and foster community. Founded by Reed Robinson, Ryan Broshar, and Justin Cox, BETA hosted its first event, the BETA Showcase, in January 2014. Over 200 people gathered to see what Minnesota's startup scene had to offer. While the organization has expanded its offerings over the years, its core purpose remains unchanged: to bring people together in support of Minnesota's entrepreneurial community, boosting the chances of startup success and encouraging more to join in.
Through its continued efforts, BETA is a critical force in the local tech ecosystem, helping startups accelerate their growth and make a lasting impact.
